Women's Wellness

Caring for and supporting women in all stages of life, tayloring treatment plans according to each woman's unique needs and honoring the importance of the mind-body unity.

The Balancing Act

Symptoms of hormone imbalance are varied and unpredictable as each woman is unique and sometimes go unrecognized.

Key factors affecting women’s wellness

There are many factors that influence women's wellness in this modern world.

Women encounter every day endogenous and exogenous toxicity, get prescriptions that may or many not be needed but are prescribed because they are being treated based on symptoms, not disease. There are also the demands of everyday life with psychosocial stressors that over a period of time accumulate and start weighing down the woman's psyche. All this leads to physical and mental stress, hormonal imbalances, nutritional imbalances and disease.

Then the symptoms become more prevalent: Physical and mental fatigue, brain fogginess and inability to focus, feeling agitated, jittery, moody, nauseous perhaps because of low or high blood sugar. It becomes more and more difficult to lose weight, specially around the abdomen and at this point depression, low sex drive and low self esteem and the lack of luster and joy in every day life becomes the standard.

Unfortunately we, as women, tend to put ourselves at the bottom of the to-do list and sadly, as the saying says, we set ourselves on fire to keep everyone warm.

Wellness Assesment

 Tailored to your specific needs

Wellness and Preventive Care

Just like we take our cars for a 10, 20, 30, 50K mile service, it should be a routine that at least every decade - just the way we adjust our wardrobes and hairstyle - we get a thorough assesment of where we are, who we have become and which path we need to take when it comes to our health.

I am not talking about your Annual Physical, with the 3 minute consultation, the blood draw with the basic tests and a pat on your back. Sometimes you walk out with the winning ticket to a colonoscopy or endoscopy -painfully necessary for prevention I must admit- but thankfully those tickets only come at the later years.

Unfortunately we wait until one (or many) red lights appear on our dashboard to reassess our lifestyle and health. There is no judgement on that as we are all guilty of ignoring how we feel because we are "too busy" to do anything about it.

Well, you are here and that is all it matters! At our clinic, we first need to know you to customize your Wellness Assessment specifically to your individual needs.

Your initial consultation will be 90 - 120 minutes where we will conduct a thorough intake, do a physical examination (Eastern and Western) and discuss your symptoms and concerns. Depending on your specific case we will require certain bloodwork:

Lipid profile, CBC, Comprehensive Metabolic Panel, Expanded female hormone panel, Thyroid and Adrenal Panel Vitamin D, B12, Ferritin, Food Sensitivity and Allergy Panel and / or any other test not listed here that will accurately help diagnose your imbalance.

After receiving the results we will schedule another 90 minute appointment to discuss them, draw a treatment plan and explain to you in detail everything about it. I am a firm believer of "knowledge is power" and the more informed you are about your care and how your body works, the better.

Your treatment can include, but is not limited to: Acupuncture, Herbology, Detox protocols, Nutritional Counseling, Mind - Body therapies, Vitamin and Mineral supplementation and/or Referral to a Medical Specialist.

Acupuncture for Fertility

Looking for a natural way to improve your fertility or increase the success rate of your Assisted Reproductive Therapies?

Seed of Life

Some of the issues that can be addressed with Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine for fertility:

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
Endometriosis, fibroids
Irregular, heavy or absent periods
Poor egg quality, frequent misscarriages

Does it help?

Acupuncture, Oriental Medicine and Nutritional supplementation have helped hundreds of thousands of women through all the steps of conception: From preparing the body to reach a perfect state of wellness to become pregnant, to significantly improve the reproductive outcome in on the day of embryo transfer.

If you are planning on getting pregnant, reaching for the bottle of prenatal vitamins is not the only way to prepare for pregnancy; at our clinic we take into account many different variables such as life style, eating habits, psychosocial stressors and many other factors that can impact your ability to prepare your body for the miracle of life.

For those who have been diagnosed with either primary or secondary infertility, Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine has been proven to be very effective in achieving pregnancy either combined with assisted reproductive technologies or alone, depending on the nature of the imbalance.

Acupuncture regulates the function of the hypothalamus and pituitary, which act on the reproductive organs; it also helps reduce stress and the stress hormones, increases the blood flow to the uterus and stimulates ovulation among other benefits.

When combining the power of modern assisted reproductive technologies with the holistic wisdom of Oriental Medicine, there is very little reason why a woman should go through emotional trauma or distress. We will work directly with your Ob/Gyn of your choice to ensure yo are where you need to be in every step of the way.
